Native plants for your yard

Greetings Friends of Lincoln Park. We all love working with the native plants in Lincoln Park. Some of us are working hard to make our yards look like Lincoln (well sort of). The more native plants we have in our yards, the more native insects we'll have (that's good!) and the more native plants and insects we have the more native birds we'll have.... you get the picture. Here's a website which gives information on sources for native plants in our area. Not so many listed right now, but it's just getting started and it will grow as more nurseries add themselves to the list. Also, other resources for working with and learning about natives:

Sunday work party, Nov 17

Greetings Friends of Lincoln Park!  It's time for more maintenance (going back to areas we've previously worked for grooming) in the park.  I've also got a few trees and shrubs we should plant, now that the rains are here. Our next work party is:
  •   Sunday, Nov 17th 9am to noon
  • Meet at the kiosk in the north parking lot (Fauntleroy Way SW & SW Rose St)
  • Dress in NW layers to stay warm and dry, with sturdy shoes or boots

We promise you a good work out in a beautiful setting, along with the satisfaction of making the world a better place!  Sharon
