Fauntleroy Church Youth Group lends a hand!

What incredible support we get from the Fauntleroy Community! On Sunday, March 30, 16 youth and 4 parents from the Fauntleroy Church Youth Group joined us to plant 10 grand fir, 5 cascara and 9 ferns in an area that FLiP and Earthcorp has put into restoration.

The weather started out threatening, but turned into beautiful spring sunshine. Carter Case, the UW senior from the Program on the Environment, who has been doing his senior project with us, lead the team, teaching the youth how to plant and why we plant. We even got a good session of "stinky bob" rermoval!

Thanks to Joel and Maria Groen who organized the event. And a special thanks to Shirley Doolittle-Egerdahl, owner of Tadpole Haven Native Plants, who donated the trees. Tadpole is a fabulous source for quality native plants!
