Supporting Nature in our urban yards

Dennis Paulson, a well known NW naturalist and the retired director of the Slater Museum in Tacoma has posted a brief, but compelling piece on supporting nature in our urban yards:

URBAN YARDS CAN BE WILDLIFE FRIENDLY

He notes the importance of having a variety of native plants, the importance of seeds and insects as food for birds, invertebrates, etc and the value of brush piles. Other great pieces can be found there as well: http://slatermuseum.blogspot.com/
