Lincoln Park field trip 12-12-15

(Update, as of 12/7/15, 3:00 pm: Sharon says the group is now full)
Greetings Friends of Lincoln Park! I wanted to let you know about a field trip Richard Droker and I will be leading in Lincoln Park on Saturday, Dec 12th at 9am. The field trip is organized by the Washington Native Plant Society. I will be showing off and talking about all the wonderful restoration work we've done in the park in the last 10 years.
Richard will be introducing you to the subtle beauty and functionality of the lichens in Lincoln, including lichens found on driftwood. It's a world most people never notice. Lichens look their best in the cool, wet of winter. Hopefully, you will gain another depth of understanding of the beauty and complexity of our hard working forest in Lincoln Park.
Meet at the north parking lot kiosk (Fauntleroy Way SW and SW Rose St) at 9am on Saturday, Dec 12th. We will walk on mostly level trails, with the exception of the trail down to the beach, for about 2-3 miles. Be prepared for rain and cold! Group size will be limited to 12 people. To sign up, contact Sharon Baker, or 206 464 1068.
