Saturday work party - March 5, 2016

Greetings Friends of Lincoln Park! Not so obvious as I write, with a storm raging outside, but spring is upon us and we need to finish up some planting in Lincoln Park. Next Saturday we will be working with our Capstone interns, Bethany and Celina, to plant the area they just cleared and the area we cleared in early Feb. Join us, we've got a lot of work to do!
  • Saturday, March 5th 9am to noon
  • Meet near the north parking lot kiosk (Fauntleroy Way SW and SW Rose St)
  • Dress in NW layers to stay warm and dry with sturdy shoes or boots.
And Please, Please, Please read the message below from our intern, Bethany and complete her brief survey. Her information will be very useful to us.

Hello Friends of Lincoln Park team,

I am a student at the University of Washington working with FLiP as a part of my senior project this winter. I am writing today to invite you to participate in a confidential 5-minute survey (14 questions) which aims at collecting data for my project to better understand the motivations and constraints of volunteerism in environmental stewardship projects. Please follow the link provided at the bottom of this email to participate.
The goal of my project is to find out why community members choose to volunteer their time in these projects, and what barriers they face to volunteering. This information will provide more insight into how environmental stewardship organizations can make improvements that will help with your goals and experiences. You will be asked to fill out a short questionnaire regarding your personal motivations for volunteering and constraints that you face to volunteering, which will then be used to make recommendations to volunteer coordinators. Your individual responses will remain confidential, as we appreciate honest answers in order to get accurate results. All questions are optional and your answers will be coded to remain separate from any identifying information.

We would be extremely grateful for your participation, as this is one of the most significant portions of my project.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read this. We encourage a response by March 6, 2016.
Feel free to email me with any questions. taylob7@uw.edu
You can access the survey here: https://catalyst.uw.edu/webq/survey/taylob7/295107
Sincerely,
Bethany Taylor
