Saturday work party 1/7/17

Greeting Friends of Lincoln Park, our first work party of 2017 is coming up. It's your first chance to enact you 2017 resolution to do more for your planet, your community and your health. We likely will be completing the invasive removal launched by 50 fabulous fourth graders from Gatewood Elementary School a few weeks ago. What an amazing, wonderful group of kids, parents and teachers! Some photos and a thank you note here:
  • Saturday, Jan 7 9am to noon
  • Meet near the north parking lot kiosk (Fauntleroy Way SW & SW Rose St)
  • Dress in NW Layers to stay warm and DRY, with sturdy boots or shoes
And here is an extraordinary opportunity! The Central Puget Sound Chapter of the Washington Native Plant Society is re-establishing their very highly regarded Native Plant Steward training, with a 100 hour class beginning in Feb. in Shoreline. There is not charge for the class, but participants make a 100 hour volunteer commitment to the City of Shoreline and to the native plant society. Expressions of interest are due by Jan 17th. Note: If you can't get to the park by 9am, check the map on the kiosk for our work location or call me at 206 464 1068. Sharon
