Green Seattle Day at Lincoln Park - November 4, 2017

Get your boots and your rain gear ready, Saturday, November 4th is Green Seattle Day and we will be doing a major planting event in Lincoln Park. In this part of the country, native plant planting season starts after the rains begin. Our relatively mild climate allows us to give plants a head start on getting their roots settled in before the spring and summer growing season. If you’ve been able to join our twice monthly work parties, you know we’ve spent the past year primarily doing maintenance in areas we’ve previously put into restoration. This work is critical if we want to maintain our gains over the past 12 years. Now we want to solidify our gains by planting 300 ferns, along with some trees and shrubs in areas in restoration.

To join in these efforts, sign up for the work party at  http://seattle.cedar.greencitypartnerships.org/event/10533/

On Saturday, November 4th meet us at 9am near the kiosk in the north parking lot (Fauntleroy Way SW and SW Rose St). This is a great opportunity to teach your kids about the value of community and environmental stewardship. It will be a fun, festive event, with coffee/tea and treats. And who knows, the sun might shine! Contact Sharon at sabaker41@gmail.com or 206 464 1068 if you have questions.
