Amazing Lincoln Park photos from Judy Lane:
Battle of the Blackberry
During our last Saturday work party (Jan 5, 2012), we ventured into an area we lovingly refer to as 'Michael's Blackberry Patch'. It actually started out as a daunting tunnel of blackberry that volunteer Michael Mager has tamed and reduced to two enormous compost piles. He's worked the area consistently for many months and has uncovered lots of beautiful natives and opened up great space for us to plant more. There's still a lot of work to be done, but it sure is impressive to see what has been accomplished so far. Thank you Michael. You're a true friend of Lincoln Park!
Green Seattle Day-Lincoln Park Thanks You!Thanks to everyone for joining us during our Green Seattle Day event at Lincoln Park! We had over 35 volunteers, including lots of young 'forest stewards'. The rain held out and everyone chipped in and helped find a good home for over 250 trees and plants at our chosen restoration site.
On Saturday, September 22nd, FLiP got some extra help removing a large patch of english ivy. Thanks to all the Seattle Pacific University Students who volunteered
as part of their annual CityQuest event!
