Fall Greetings Friends of Lincoln Park. Love the rain! So good for our forest. It was wonderful to see so many people finding respite from the heat over the summer in our forests. And now the forest is busy holding water, preventing erosion, etc. Just a few of the many ecosystem services the forest provides. But our hard working forest still needs our help. We've got an work party to remove invasive plants coming up:
- Saturday, Oct 5 9am to noon
- Meet at the kiosk in the north parking lot (Fauntleroy Way SW & SW Rose St)
- Dress to stay dry and warm (NW layers with sturdy shoes or boots)
Jill Demmin, our other forest steward, will be leading the work party while I work at the WNPS Native Plant Sale.
The plant sale is a wonderful opportunity to add native plants to your yard. Not only do they require less upkeep than introduced plants, but they also support native wildlife, birds, bees, etc. The sale is 10am to 4pm at the Hunter Farms lot (7744 35th Ave NE--pumpkins sold out front).
